Sieg Heil mein Führer!!! Sieg Heil!!!

Steve BannonAssistant to the President and Chief Strategist to the Trump administration… recently said this in an interview:

“The media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for awhile. The media here is the opposition party. They don’t understand this country. They still do not understand why Donald Trump is the president of the United States.”

But what’s newly disturbing is the phrasing and tone of Bannon’s statement… telling an institution to “keep its mouth shut” is… quite simply… A THREAT… it’s entirely different from expressing the hope that the media might want to temper its criticism and scrupulously check its facts…

Sounds to me like the kettle calling the pot black

When to Speak

Frequently cited by journalists… public officials and researchers… the independent Quinnipiac University Poll regularly surveys residents nationwide about political races… state and national elections and issues of public concern… such as schools… taxes… transportation… municipal services… the environment… and political opinion…

Known for its exactness and thoroughness… the Quinnipiac Poll is featured regularly in The New York TimesThe Washington PostUSA TodayThe Wall Street Journal and on national network news broadcasts… and this week I got to participate in a poll mainly on national political opinion… that’s right… good old Uncle Donald and his recent actions…

This is one way you can have your voice and opinions heard… I urge you to take the time to participate if called… my poll took approximately 5 minutes5 minutes well spent… the other way is to write to your elected officials… just like the 5 minutes it took me to voice my opinions in an email on Betsy DeVoss to my US Senator

Keep this in mind… if you just sit there and take their bullshit… YOU are definitely PART OF THE PROBLEM… and will never be a PART OF THE SOLUTION… it is all our right and duty to voice our opinions… or be satisfied by the current tyrannical actions emanating from the Oval Office

In the World of Sports…

Terrell Owens has the résumé of a first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer. Yet, he’s been a finalist two times and has not gotten into the HallOwens was denied again… he was… to say the least… controversial through his career… both on and off the field… which is one reason he played with five different teams… even while being one of the most productive receivers ever…

But that isn’t what the Hall of Fame is about entirely… yes… fans… players… coaches and the sports media writers (46 of whom are chosen for the HOF Selection Committee) nominate former players mostly for their on-field performances… but in my mind being a Hall of Famer is more… it is the example set as a person to society as well

Terrell Owens even today is still the arrogantchildish brat he was in his heyday… just read his tweet following being turned down this time around… “…HOF is a total joke. Honestly, doesn’t mean anything to me to get in beyond this point…” now isn’t that just the type of individual you want to look up to… I rest my case…

Hooray NFL Hall of Fame Selection Committee for upholding standards of excellence over the actions of another ‘spoiled little brat’

When is the News… NOT the NEWS?!?

Last Friday morning the jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics was released for the month of January… it showed a healthy increase of 227,000 persons employed… which was significantly more than was projected… these numbers extend Obama’s job creation to a record 76 consecutive months of growth… but wait… just listen to what FOX News fed to the public

So leave it to FOX News to lavish praise on Donald Trump for what they call the “…first jobs report under President Trump…”

Never mind that Trump wasn’t sworn in until January 20 and this report concludes with data as of January 12… that didn’t stop FAUX News (oops… my bad)… FOX News from pasting a graphic over the video that proclaimed “…More Winning…” and on top of that bunch of bullshit (oops… my bad again)… ‘alternative facts’… in a meeting with corporate CEOsTrump addressed the jobs report saying:

“…A couple of things happened this morning… 227,000 jobs… great spirit in the country right now… so we’re very happy about that… I think that it’s going to continue… big league… we’re bringing back jobs…”

When is Americaespecially Trump supporters… going to realize that if it looks like bullshit and smells like bullshit… it’s FUCKING BULLSHIT!!!

– – – – – – – – – –

How to Fight Back…

There are many effective ways to try to resist the Trump presidency… a new report exposing some of the most shocking secrets about the entire Trump family lays bare exactly how petty and pathetic he is… which is why even just making fun of him online often gets right under his skin… but he also gets financial and verbal support from some powerful companies…

That’s why activists have compiled a list of companies to boycott for their unjustifiable support of Trump… boycotting isn’t always easy and some of these companies aren’t the ones you’d expect… but it’s a small sacrifice to make for the sake of the country and… at this point… the world…

WalmartUberHobby LobbyAmazonMillerCoorsYuengling BeerOverstock.comSearsZappos… are just a few… and even though my limited spending at some of them might not make a dent… if we pull together and everyone boycotts these companies it may turn some heads…

– – – – – – – – – –

Surprise… Surprise…

President Trump is known as America’s most hated president… however… that detest actually spreads well beyond our shores… in fact… over one million citizens of the United Kingdom have signed a petition authored by British lawyer named Graham Guest… demanding that Donald Trump not be allowed to enter their country for his official state visit with the Queen of England

The petition reads:

“Donald Trump should be allowed to enter the UK in his capacity as head of the US Government, but he should not be invited to make an official State Visit because it would cause embarrassment to Her Majesty the Queen. Donald Trump’s well documented misogyny and vulgarity disqualifies him from being received by Her Majesty the Queen or the Prince of Wales. Therefore during the term of his presidency Donald Trump should not be invited to the United Kingdom for an official State Visit.”

In fact… 1 out of every 64 people in the UK have signed on to Guest’s anti-Trump petition… we’ll have to wait and see how the British government reacts… the Parliament of the UK has hosted similar debates before… such as when the body took up the matter of whether Trump was ‘a fool or a dangerous fool’…

I guess I’m not the only one who’s fed up and won’t take it anymore…

And if you think I’m making this up just so I can rant about it… see for yourself in this video clip of the House of Commons posted shortly after it was made public on February 6th…

M1: The Incredible Expanding Crab

The Crab Nebula is cataloged as M1, the first on Charles Messier’s famous list of things which are not comets. In fact, the Crab is now known to be a supernova remnant, an expanding cloud of debris from the explosion of a massive star. The violent birth of the Crab was witnessed by astronomers in the year 1054. Roughly 10 light-years across today, the nebula is still expanding at a rate of over 1,000km/sec. The image was taken at the Mt. Lemmon Sky Center. The Crab Nebula lies about 6,500 light-years away in the constellation Taurus.

Behold… the Most Gorgeous Cars of the Art Deco Era… Part 1

Compiled from: The Vintage News

The Art Deco movement influenced design and marketing in many different industries in the 1930s, and the motor industry was no exception. During the 1930s, when most folks couldn’t even afford to put food on the table, upscale car makers turned out luxury vehicles with incredible features. Some of these features, like front-wheel drive and electric wipers, were ahead of their time. Most of all, a huge leap forward in style. Aerodynamics, Streamlining, and Art Deco all collided into beautiful sheetmetal shapes.

The greatest impact of the streamlined designs was in fact that the 1930’s cars became eye catchers. Automobiles of the 1930s became to look like art. Most cars were build on a simple, high, carriage-like chassis rolling on wood-spoke wheels and solid tires. From 1932 on, American cars changed.

~ Things That Might Interest You ~

All I can think of to start this off is the line from the film Network“I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it any more!”

That line written in 1976 is more relevant today than the screen writer Paddy Chayefsky ever imagined it could be… especially when applied to the ‘report card’ that Donald Trump has generated in just the first 2 weeks of his administration… although while closely looking at it appears more to be a dictatorship rather than administering the business of running America

Where to begin? That’s the daily question for anyone trying to follow the words and deeds of the new administration… which is like drinking from two fire hoses – one gushing policythe other spewing insanity

Neither stream can be ignored… I wish I could agree with those who say we should pay little attention to President Donald Trump’s verbal eruptions and focus only on concrete actions… but I can’t… it matters that the most powerful man in the world insists on ‘facts’ that are nothing but self-aggrandizing fantasy

I have always been taught that a good leader… leads by example… but the only example I see is one of childishspoiled to the boneegotistical tyrannic behavior… a megalomaniac spouting off what he wants done that has nothing so far with returning ‘power to the people’ (“…but we are transferring power from Washington, DC and giving it back to you, the people…”)

But first I need to give you a couple of important definitions to help keep matters better understood…

Fascism– an authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization… extreme right-wing, authoritarian, or intolerant views or practice… (it’s main opponent is Socialism aka ‘power given to the people’)

Malignant Narcissism– a psychological syndrome comprising an extreme mix of narcissism, antisocial personality disorder, aggression and sadism… often grandiose and always ready to raise hostility levels… the malignant narcissist undermines organizations in which they are involved and dehumanizes the people with whom they associate…

Read those again… then think about the past weeks and see if they don’t strike a chord in tune with Trump and his actions… if you don’t think so then you are probably part of those definitions… and I’m not the only one who sees this… others… like Dr. John D. Gartner… a renowned psychologist and professor at John Hopkins… says he believes Donald Trump has Malignant Narcissism; “Donald Trump is dangerously mentally ill and temperamentally incapable of being president.”

The Wall…

This is a campaign promise he has come through on… at least the ‘promise to build’ part… but who will end up paying for The Wall… he has admitted at first that ‘we the people’ will… and that Mexico willeventually… but no definition of ‘eventually’ has been given or even offered… and the new President of Mexico simply refuses to pay for the wall

So Trump initiated the proposal of a 20% tariff to Mexican imports… but has he really thought this through… we import vehicles… electrical machinery… machinery… agricultural products… mineral fuels (oil)… and optical and medical equipment just to name a few… if you can’t afford any of those items now… then you won’t afford them later… oh wait… some of those items are food… I guess you’ll have to afford them later…

And lest I forget the part about who PAYS for The Wall… after Trump promised that ‘we the people’ wouldn’t… that 20% tariff on imported goods would take generations to repay… isn’t that a nice legacy to pass on to your children and grandchildren… and great-grandchildren… and… GET THE PICTURE YET?!?

Here’s a link with more details: The Wall

Hang in there… just 2 more short items to open your eyes

SCOTUS…

Trump announced his pick for the Supreme Court… he nominated deeply conservative 49-year-old jurist Neil Gorsuch… and with that… Trump delivered the pièce de résistance of the most all-consuming crisis of democratic legitimacy since the Civil War

No… it’s not merely because Gorsuch ruled in the notorious Hobby Lobby case that a corporation has ‘religious rights’ that supersede the healthcare rights of its female employees… although that kind of legal monkeying with the concept of ‘person-hood’ is bad enough… (Strike 1- Judicial branch)

The Republican party took control of the House of Representatives in 2010… the same year as a national Census… they proceeded to gerrymander districts across the country so heavily that their majority is virtually impervious to elections… (Strike 2- Legislative branch)

And finally… we all know how Trump furthered the rift in our democracy with his agenda and administration appointees and candidates for Cabinet positions… it looks like a ‘circus of radicals’ who could all but run our country into the toilet… (Strike 3- Executive branch)

He’s Where?!?

On a comical… yet sad note… this final item is a good indication of how we can all trust in Trump’s every promise to us… the people… who still haven’t received any power

Being president is hard and no one knows that better than Donald Trump… after less than two weeks into the jobhaving already made a mess of the country at home and abroad… the president needs a 3-day vacation (2/3-2/6)… last Friday Trump will left the White House… boarded Air Force One… flew out to Mar-A-Lago (his private estate in Florida) for the weekend… all while refugees ponder life and death… Trump will be golfing in the sun at his resort

Wasn’t it he who said over-and-over through his campaign“…“I would not be a president who took vacations… I would not be a president that takes time off…”

The only way I see out of this mess is for ‘we the people’ to say to each and everyone of them… “YOU’RE FIRED!!!”

New Christmas Presents

By now you all know that Christmas is just another day for me… but the spirit of Christmas lasts all year for me… I buy myself Christmas gifts all the time… and two gifts this year came after Christmas Day… I just like getting what I want… when I want it… and not waiting to put it on someone’s gift list just for Christmas

I had recently bought a new set of kitchen knives from Ginsu Knife Co… the new style with the scalloped serrated blades… and I was stymied as to how to keep a nice sharp edge on them… and ‘gift #1’ was what I had been looking for since buying the knife set… a Brod & Taylor knife sharpening tool

I can sharpenhone… and steel my kitchen knives… straight and serrated edge… all with one device… all by changing the angle of the knife when I draw it through the sharpener… but it wasn’t cheap… I had seen it in the Sharper Image catalog retailing for $119… I did not pay that price… I paid around $70

Now for ‘gift #2’… a special edition Nuwave Counter-top Oven… I saw the ad on TV but instead of calling the 800 number I looked it up on their website… all the same deals for ‘free’ extras were there… the TV ad said they were exclusive TV dealsdon’t always believe what you hear in those ads

I decided to purchase one and get all those ‘freebies’ mentioned in the TV ad by just paying the additional handling fee per item… the TV ad had the oven listed for 4 easy payments of $39.95… the same price was on the website… so what’s the catch… w-e-l-l-l-l-l… after adding all the ‘free items’ to my shopping cart I checked and found that instead of just under $120 all the additional handling charges ran the total up to almost $300

Ain’t nothing free in this life folks… I ended up buying it through Amazon.com… and this model came with the expander ring that fits larger fowl and cuts of meat… and all I paid was just over $85… which included the shipping… I think I make a pretty good Santa Claus

Something New for My Tummy

I use coupons when doing my grocery shopping… both paper and digital from Smith’s… I don’t go digging for them out of the paper… the digital ones I get from the Smith’s website and the paper ones are mailed to me from Smith’s based on my purchasing habits… the digital coupons often feature new items from vendors…

What I found in the digital coupons last week was one for V8 Veggie Blend Purple Power… a fruit and vegetable beverage… the fruits and veggies are a combination of BeetsGreen Apples (my guess is Granny Smith’s) and get this… Purple Carrots… that’s right… Purple Carrotssweet and tart all-in-one

Without Further Ado…

I’m sure you have all read or heard about Trump’s initial Presidential Orders… but have you really looked behind the curtaindo you realize the immense impact they will have on all of us… and none seem to be giving us ‘the people’ any power or say in the matter…

I know previous articles have been from an ‘anti-Trump’ site… but now I notice a trend in the media in general… especially in light of Trump’s Press Secretary Sean Spicer’s ‘veiled threats’ at this administrations first White House press conference

I don’t think it’s just me… but I see trends beginning to form… under the guise of ‘giving power back to the people’ and using the excuse of “…why didn’t they vote…” when in fact they are giving more power to the establishment… isn’t that what triggered the political revolution of the 1960s… and for your information… these protesters did votethey were just outnumbered

Week 1 Score Card:

Reduction of mortgage insurance rates thrown outscience programs cutmove to de-fund Planned Parenthoodpulled USA out of the Trans Pacific Pact (TPP)… re-approved building of controversial pipelines (one of those a direct slap-in-the-face of Native Americans)… White House website no longer available in Spanish… and continuous infantile criticism and whining about anything that upsets ‘His Highness’

One question… How does any of this give power back to the people? I am one of those people and I get nothing from any of this… and aren’t Native Americans pert of the people… all I see is more egotistical actions to please his supporters which in turn create more division in our society

I’m not the only one who thinks Trump is doing a bad job… a Gallup Poll tweet said… “…Trump first elected president with initial sub-50% approval rating…” the actual number was 45% approval ratingDonald Trump’s first days in the White House were directed by a disturbing and visible rage according to interviews with almost a dozen White House officials and Trump advisers

I don’t hate anyone who voted for Trump… that’s their right and privilege… I just don’t understand how anyone with any education and/or common sense can’t see that instead of making America great again this administration is causing great tension throughout the country and abroad… not only with our foes… but also our close allies…

So please… read the following articles carefully… with an open mind…

NGC 6357: Stellar Wonderland

For reasons unknown, NGC 6357 is forming some of the most massive stars ever discovered. The image includes not only visible light taken by the UKIRT Telescope in Hawaii (blue) as part of the SuperCosmos Sky Surveys, but infrared light from NASA’s orbiting Spitzer Space Telescope (orange) and X-ray light from NASA’s orbiting Chandra X-ray Observatory (pink). NGC 6357 spans about 100 light years and lies about 5,500 light years away toward the constellation of the Scorpion.

The largest city on the highway between Amarillo, TX and Albuquerque, NM. Old U.S. Route 66 runs through the heart of Tucumcari via Route 66 Boulevard, which was previously known as Tucumcari Boulevard from 1970 to 2003 and as Gaynell Avenue before that time. Numerous businesses, including gasoline service stations, restaurants and motels, were constructed to accommodate tourists as they traveled through on the Mother Road. A large number of the vintage motels and restaurants are still in business despite intense competition from newer chain motels and restaurants.

Stunning Driftwood Sculptures

Compiled from: BoredPanda.com (Vaiva Vareikaitė)

Debra Bernier is an extraordinary artist from Victoria, Canada. She uses natural materials, such as driftwood, clay, and shells to create mesmerizing sculptures. These intricate pieces represent the spirits of nature as human fusing together with the natural material. “When I work with driftwood, I never start with a blank canvas. Each piece of driftwood is already a sculpture, created by the caresses of the waves and wind.”

The island of Ta’u in American Samoa knows this all too well. Located 4,000 miles from the west coast of the United States, the island is no stranger to power rationing and outages. To demonstrate their capabilities, Tesla and Solar City installed a solar power and battery storage-enabled microgrid that can supply nearly 100% of the island’s power needs from renewable energy, providing a cost-saving alternative to diesel, removing the hazards of power intermittency and making outages a thing of the past.
